Leiden International (Bio)Medical Student Conference (LIMSC) 2021
On the 12th and 13th of March 2021, the very first online edition of the Leiden International (Bio)Medical Student Conference (LIMSC) will take place. LIMSC is the largest biennial student conference in the world, with over 700 participants from more than 70 different countries at the last edition in 2019. You will be able to enjoy workshops, guest lectures by prominent speakers and panel discussions on the COVID-19 pandemic from the comfort of your own home. The scientific programme will be followed by a social programme to engage with students from all around the world. There will also be plenty of information available on studying at the LUMC as an international student.

LUMC Top Research Seminar 16 March 2021
The LUMC Top Research Seminars aim to stimulate competition and to foster collaboration and inspiration/formation of new research ideas. Researchers maintain their knowledge in related and less related disciplines. The seminars are open to all interested LUMC employees. On the 15th of April, LUMC Global will host an expert event on Innovations in Fetal Therapy. This expert event will showcase the latest innovations and zoom in on several themes in the field of Fetal Therapy. It will also emphasize the importance of international collaborations. We hope to not only give you insight into the latest developments in the field, but also spur you on to connect with us, to build a community to improve the care for the tiniest of patients even further.

The LUMC also has decennia long collaborations in research and education with multiple renowned universities and institutes outside of Europe. LUMC Global will focus on the consolidation and expansion of strategic partnerships with several targeted institutions in our focus countries (China, Indonesia, Brazil & Japan). Furthermore, we are a dedicated partner for the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and are working increasingly with the African continent in research and education projects.

LUMC has a strong history of conducting top quality research. LUMC acts as magnet for talent, has a significant number of international students and encourages its own students to gain international experience. LUMC Global is fostering a model where research and education are intertwined and focused on several selected centers worldwide. We offer curricular courses, electives (half minors), research internships and two master’s degree programs in English: Vitality & Ageing and Biomedical Sciences, open to both local and international students. We also offer an excellence programme in Population Health Management. The normally offered summer schools for this year were canceled due to COVID-19. Global PhD’s & Postdocs
Studying for a PhD or being a postdoc at the LUMC means working together to break new ground. We can offer people from all over the world a platform on which they can put their passion into practice. We have a unique setting with a premium research infrastructure. The collaboration between LUMC, Leiden University, the Leiden Bio Science Park and many international, worldwide partners, for instance through (joint) PhD and postdoc research projects, creates unique possibilities for medical innovation.
